Summer Job with a San Francisco Foundation

The Forgotten International is a foundation established by Adjunct Professor Tom Nazario of the USF Law School in 2007. Its offices are located in the Marina area of San Francisco on Union Street, between Gough and Octavia. Its mission is to help the poorest of the poor around the world, particularly women and children, rise out of poverty (

The Foundation is seeking a part time administrative and IT assistant to work with us on some day to day tasks in the office. Your duties at the Foundation will be mainly to support and assist the President and Director of Operations in whatever they need in their day to day work. Also, it would be helpful for you to have some IT-related skills to support our three computers and printers. Some tasks may include:

  • Typing, editing, and sending emails and letters from hand-written notes to donors and important prospects using MSWord
  • Packaging and mailing books to people all over the country
  • Knowledge of MS PowerPoint to create presentations and perhaps running them at various venues in the Bay Area (responsible for making sure they run smoothly)
  • Updating our photo and video folders in the computer as new items arrive
  • Update Contacts in e-Tapestry (our online database)
  • Update our website when necessary (we use a customized WordPress site)
  • General upkeep of computers and devices (updates, connection issues, also tending to any issues as they arise like needing to buy new ink, paper jams, no wifi connection, etc.)
  • Managing all our external hard drives, printers, wifi network, homegroup network (allows for shared printers on network) making sure all of them run smoothly and troubleshoot
  • Backing up the main computer’s hard drive (including our Dropbox cloud)
  • Helping with general technical issues related to phones and computers, and finally
  • Help with general office tasks and special projects as needed

This job is part time and every day is something different. A flexible schedule is fine, and we can discuss which days and times will work best for both of us up to 12 to 15 hours per week. We would prefer two to three days a week, starting in the mornings, for you to come into the office. This job is not a remote position. The pay rate is negotiable as well.
