On September 19, 2012, the global law firm of Bingham McCutchen, LLP welcomed Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to their San Francisco offices for a reception to benefit The Forgotten International. Mr. Kennedy is one of the country’s leading environmental lawyers. He is also a law professor, author and activist. His work as chief prosecuting attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper and as president-at-large of Waterkeeper Alliance has helped restore New York’s Hudson River and waterways around the world. Mr. Kennedy was selected by TIME Magazine as one of their “Heroes for the Planet.” We were thrilled and honored to spend the afternoon with Mr. Kennedy. He gave an informed and impassioned talk about environmental justice and how the poor are disproportionally affected by irresponsible business practices and corrupt political systems. We are thankful he fights the good fight every day on behalf of the planet and all of us who live on it. TFI would like to thank everyone at Bingham who opened up their beautiful space for us and hosted a wonderful reception, and to our sponsors and supporters, without whom the day would not have been possible. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones. You can view the event program here.
